Pipe lid and crossbow bolt
Concerning the hill 897 ridge I can say that much. The area did not see any WW 2 activity. In fact, in comparison to skull hill it saw hardly any activity. I searched the ridge very carefully, in particular its western end some 200 m east of hill 897. I found a few items connected with forestry as well as a pipe lid and a crossbow bolt shown below but no WW 2 relics. The rest of the account will concentrate on skull hill.
