Metal Detecting the 17. SS Division Retreat Route

Part 1 of a two part story of the last days of the 17. SS Panzergrenadierdivision 'Götz von Berlichingen'. Due to its symbol this division was also called 'The iron fist'. (Note: Götz von Berlichingen was a historical figure. A warlord living in the 16. century, he lost a hand in battle which was replaced by an artificial one made from iron, hence the name.)

Walks and detector searches reveal traces and relics still to be found 60 years after the end of the war.
